he Ambassador carriage is furnished as a dining room and
offers tables and easy chairs for 36 persons. The interior is
held in dark cherry wood, and an original curtain from the
Imperial Box of the Vienna State Opera adorns one of the end walls
of the salon. Of course, the carriage is ideally suited for exquisite
and elegant meals, but there is also a piano for entertainment as
well as a bar – a small reminiscence of the former smoking salon
where gentlemen of the court would retire while the ladies had a
dainty cup of coffee and some petits fours in the ladies' salon.
Today, ladies and gentlemen all join together at the bar after an
opulent meal for a few dance steps and perhaps a
digestif
